Chris Jones, Jr
Secretary

Chris Jones, Jr. is an experienced law enforcement officer who has dedicated his career to service.  A believer in treating people with dignity and respect, Mr. Jones is an active corporal with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office where he has served since November of 2016.  He has held various positions in patrol operations, the training unit, the school guardian unit, and the youth services unit, where he oversees a diverse range of programs aimed at addressing the needs of the youth the agency serves.

Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Jones served as a patrol officer with the Indian Shores Police Department from April 2009 to November 2016, where he took on extra roles as the agency’s training officer and recruiter.  Mr. Jones’s foundation in building trust, exercising a solid work ethic, and community policing were formed in a small agency setting and honed at the Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Jones has been actively involved in protecting and advocating for his law enforcement colleagues through the Sun Coast Police Benevolent Association since March of 2021, when he was elected to the role of PBA Director (rep) for his peers at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

In September of 2023, he was elected to serve on Sun Coast PBA’s Executive Board as our union’s Secretary.  In this capacity, Mr. Jones continues to demonstrate strong, collaborative leadership and commitment to ensuring the voices of his peers are heard. Mr. Jones also holds the unofficial role as the face of Sun Coast PBA’s Cops Adopt program, after his family adopted their dog Bo through our PBA program which matches shelter animals in need of loving homes with law enforcement families.
